October 13, 2015

Alright. Okay.

School has started. AND I HAVE BEEN LOVING IT!
No really, this has been such a fun semester for me at the University of Utah.

Taylor Swift was a BLAST! She is such a great performer and she is seriously amazing! I am not 13 years old, I swear.

Fall means football and I have been enjoying a lot of that this year.

We also took a quick weekend trip to Lake Powell in September. It was a blast!

There were a few birthdays in September and October:
Jane turned 3! I can not believe it!

Here is me with Jane on the day she was born:

I remember walking into that hospital room in Spokane, Washington and thinking
"SHE is the most perfect newborn I have ever seen"

Josh also had a birthday! The big 3-0!

And then my Dad celebrated his birthday in October

and you can't forget the dogs...Max and Charlie share October 3rd as their Birthday!
Max turned 12, and Charlie turned 3

I could spend all of my days going on long drives.
Long drives are my favorite thing, especially in the Fall when everything is beautiful!

Halloween is in the air.

I love Halloween!

But I am not sad when it is over.
The morning after Halloween is fun because...well...Thanksgiving is in the air, and when Thanksgiving is in the air...it means it is acceptable to talk about Christmas!!!!!!

Want to know a secret?

When I get sad studying, I smell the pine tree febreze in my nightstand drawer, just to remind me that Christmas is coming and everything will be OKAY.

Also, I listened to Christmas music the other night.
11 o'clock at night to be precise.
Yeah, go ahead and judge me.

Other things that have happened
-celebrating fall break right now! full week! no school!
-college gameday with ESPN at the U!
(pictured above, I got to meet Kyle Whittingham)
- Pretty sure I crushed my Geology midterm, but I won't find out until after fall break

10 more Fridays until CHRISTMAS!

XOXO
SHLYN

Summer 2015

Well once again I waited months to post another blog post.
Now that school has started and I am more on top of things, I think I can keep up.

Yes School has started and summer is over! So sad! But I love the fall! (and when it is the fall you can start getting excited for Christmas!)

Summer 2015
June- Lake Powell with friends and family
July- fourth of July, Concerts with friends, Lake Powell, STRINGHAMS came to visit Utah!
August- Newport and then BACK TO SCHOOL

In June I went down to Lake Powell with Mom, Dad, Lindsay, Josh, Andrea, Sean, Ella, The Halpins, Jeff, Carly, Grandma Jane, Grandpa Dale and Zoe!

Then came the July Lake Powell trip!
Everyone was there!
Mom, Dad,
Melissa, Jack,
Josh, Lindsay,
Sean, Andrea,
Jeff, Carly,
Me (of course),
Hannah, Jackson, Jane,
Max, Charlie,
Ella,
and even BABY LUKE!

Could Ella and Luke be any cuter?!?

Watching Jeff teach the little girls to surf will always be one of my favorite memories!

Ella loved the boat but I think with all the little kids on the houseboat, the heat, and not enough naps she got a little stressed!
One day on the boat while standing up watching the tubers she fell asleep! This picture was taken right before she closed her eyes!

Want to know the best part of Lake Powell this year?
We got to bring the Stringhams HOME with us!
Yep! They came to Salt Lake City to visit for two weeks after Lake Powell!
It was so much fun having those little people around.
We went to the zoo, got family pictures taken, went to spaghetti factory (of course), went to the alpine slide, and had a lot of FUN!

Luke was able to be blessed while in Salt Lake.
This was a fun celebration and I am so glad I got to be there for that special day!

;

Ella loves to touch Luke's head.

August was the last month of no school, no stress, no endless studying.
Me, Jeff, Mom and Dad drove to Lake Tahoe and stayed in Squaw Valley.
The next morning we made the drive across California to the PCH where we met Josh and Lindsay just outside San Fransisco.
We drove down the PCH all the way to Santa Cruz, then woke up in the morning and made our way to NEWPORT BEACH where we met Andrea and Ella!
(Sean arrived two days later after he finished stuff at work)
The PCH was beautiful!
I will never forget that experience.
Every turn led to a new "picture perfect" shot!

Aaaaaaand here is the rest of my summer in IPHONE photos.
I think they call this a I-phone photo dump, so here you go:

ED SHEERAN WITH DAD ^^^^
it was a dream.
His concert was Heaven.
